Do you ever not feel like talking anymore? Have someone who wasn't willing to listen when you were talking. Maybe they weren't willing to listen to your opinion and instead jumped down your throat with their opinion. Or were too busy with other things when you wanted to talk so they weren't listening. Either way I don't feel like sharing. You made me feel less important and so now that it's convenient for you, you want me to spill all that has happened in the past week and all that is going on next week? But wait will you listen or just pretend to care because everything else is more important?

Yes, there are definitely times when I realize it would be (or would at least seem) easier or better to just stop talking (or to not even bother getting started) than to end up being ignored...and even if or when the other person might not actually be intentionally ignoring me. It would be great if all people were able to actually care and pay attention whenever someone is talking, but that is just not reality and I see nothing to be gained by tossing words into the air just to have them there.

It's harder to pay attention nowadays. Technology has shortened the attention span somewhat.
