I've made the decision to stop regularly attending my support group. I have been doing really well. The one thing that seems to repeatedly get me down though is my support group. Instead of it being a supportive and safe environment it has become exclusive and imposing. I've had enough of the in-crowd and their looking down their noses at those they have chosen not to include. I've had enough of feeling like crap because I must sit there and listen to them drone on about all the socializing they have done amongst themselves over the week. It is cruel and unfair to those not chosen to participate. I am sick of watching this cruelty. I am sick of the rudeness to myself and other's. I feel a sense of 'how dare they make it come to this'!

Are there any other support groups in your area you can try?

Well, if you don't feel like it's good for you, then it's the right thing to do.

You could try another one, if you haven't already

From what you said, it is no longer a "support" group just a group that makes you feel bad. You're wise to terminate it.

That is sad, and it's not uncommon - it's something facilitators should be looking out for and countering if it does happen. Hope you can find a more 'open' support group to meet your needs.

Wrong kind of "Support" group for you. Best to leave it.

Surely this realization (although I'm sure you would rather it not have to happen) is a sign of an amount of strength and growth? And confidence, clearly...

Thankyou, and yes I do feel stronger coming to this decision.
