Wondering if I should just not talk about anything to anyone anymore. No one seems to really understand my feelings on things. When I talk about anything to people in real life they just say things that end up making me feel even worse. I feel like I can't deal with all these feelings on my own but I can't talk with anyone either. This feeling of lonliness is causing me a lot of anxiety. Plus a bunch of other feelings are causing me anxiety and I can't sleep. It's too overwhelming for me. Maybe I'll just keep everything to myself and just talk to myself like I usually do. I'll just be alone with no one and just do meditation for the rest of my life and not try to ever connect with anyone. I'll just be sad by myself and learn to live with that sadness.

You're not alone, Exploding. You put yourself across very well in these few words. Keep trying. Any day now, you'll 'click' with someone, and one person is all it takes.

Hopefully, but I am not aware of any actual guarantee.

Keeping everything to ourselves and never trying to connect with anyone is not a solution, just do not expect other people to be able to take things as far or as deeply as some of us wish or need to go. We live in a very troubled and broken world where it seems many people are unaware, do not care or are living in denial of reality.

No guarantees, Lee, that's true.

I was giving my impression of the OP, who seemed articulate and ready to make friends.

As a student, I briefly suffered from selective mutism. It was only with a certain group of people, but it was very distressing. I literally couldn't say one word.

I wish someone had told me, Don't worry, you'll click with someone soon and this will pass.
