Anyone here sometimes feels melancholic for no real reason? It sucks, I don't know how to stop it

I think it is a natural part of being human, honestly. I also think it's more common in people already struggling with mental health issues. I get this sometimes for sure, what helps me is to not dwell on it and keep busy. It passes eventually, no emotion is permanent.

Well I have anxiety for no real reason and well it's complicated. I don't know what else to say. I can be bad at explaining things. Sorry you're feeling down.

Sorry to hear that, Mickey. Big hugs. Is it crying-sad, or slide-into -depression sad?

I wouldn't go as far as calling it depression, however I definitely don't feel that well..

In my experience, melancholy / tearful can be a good thing, as it is the mind caring about itself, and trying to find out what's wrong, and make itself feel better (perhaps with a good cry). Rather than the hard, cold type of sad where I can feel no self-pity.
Are you in a situation where you can let the tears come? |

No, I'm not crying.. because I don't really know what to cry about. I just feel "moody"...

I kind of feel this way right now. Last night I was fine then, right before bed time got depressed over things that were nagging my thoughts, went on to bed, woke up this morning still not feeling so hot, watched a dumb movie which brought me down even more and now I'm not really depressed but, not feeling so great either. It's like I know that something depressing will happen today at some point so, I don't want to get my hopes up and trick myself into thinking that it's going to be a good day. So, I'm just going to see how it goes and deal with whatever kind of mood comes along.
