I don't want to be this way... I don't think that I actively try to be this way... but it seems that if the majority of people think X... I think Y. I see this happening with: tv, movies, and people.

I think it is related to being an introvert. I feel like I "go deeper" in terms of examining something. While most people are perfectly willing to just scratch the surface. Maybe I over think it.

But it really is an issue, because, lately, it seems like if you don't agree with others, they will attack you. There is no respect for your views. So I am often dealing with attacks for just what I think? I want to agree with everyone but, I can't.

Anyone else?

People will "attack" for oftentimes no reason at all. The problems for me come when I try to internalize their actions/reactions, which I know have nothing to do with me. I'm often told how wrong I am and have been told I'd "argue with God." I would. I also overthink everything, which leads to more mistakes in my life. I'm learning to let people be who they are and accept them for what they do, because that's whom they truly are. Those that are overly-critical of me constantly are cut from my life or reduced in their time and influence.
And yeah, some people are just ok with the surface stuff. I prefer deeper meanings too.

Why is it that you want to agree with everyone? Why is that important and what does it represent to you?

I think, unfortunately, the way to make friends is to agree with them. When I was younger I feel like people told me that having your own thoughts would be valued but I am sorry to say that isn't true. The way really to gain friends is to whole heartily agree with them.

I am not immune to it. I enjoy people agreeing with me. It is just that so few do.

My experience in the workplace is it's essential to agree with co-workers and bosses or else it presents problems. I could totally be wrong, my communication is weak.

It's essential to agree with family members, too. Disagreeing creates great emotional distress.

Hmmmm, I hold my values & thoyghts gecause I have looked at the big picture & my thoughts & beliefs reflect a lot of time, research put into them. I did not get my thoughts from just agreeing with people.

This whole country & probably the world went from the concept of tolerance to name callibg & labeling if yiu don't agree with their thinking. I honestly don't give a crap about what label they want to give. I have other people I know who have out as much time into tgeir thoughts too. If I don't agree & if they don't want to be friends because I think different.....that is their loss, not mine. I am nit going to be a sheep & think what society wants me to think just because "EVERYONE ELSE" thinks that way. I hava a mind of my own & the abiluty to think for myself & I like that ability. I do research on my thinking to I dkn't just create it in my mind like my dad & my ex-H did. I have eniygh self-confidence in what I think & why that I don't care if I think differently than others. Honestly I am happy to have a mind thst can think & analyze & come up with it's own conclusions & is not controlled by what everyone in society seems to think.

I don't have to agree with people to get along with them & those people who feel that is necessary aren't wirth having as friends.
