I have decided I need psychological help. I have been prescribed an antidepressant for approximately one year now; however, complete remission of my depression and anxiety was transient, about less than three months. Slowly, my depression and illness has returned. I cannot fight this alone. I have tried self-help books, but I feel as though it may be more likely beneficial to see a licensed mental health professional who can speed up my recovery.

I am scared to reveal my struggles to a therapist though. I am 21-years old, and I haven't even coped with negative events that happened to me since I was in High School and when I was younger. I feel ridiculous to pay someone to help me, but who may make me feel worse? How do I know if a therapist is good or not?

I now know I need to surrender, and for the better too. But it's scary but I know it will be worth it in the long run.

Please, see a therapist. And don't feel ashamed - be proud that you were able to ask for help.
Thanks for this!

I think you are making the right call in seeing a therapist. It can be hard to find a good one. You may need to try a few before you find one you click with. But when you do, you will learn some tools to help manage your depression and anxiety.
Thanks for this!

Oh, honey, it is scary, but you are thinking logically. GOOD FOR YOU!!! Recognizing that you need help is a huge step and you are there!

Google articles on how to determine if your therapist is good for you or not. Remember this: no one has the right to criticize you or to make you feel bad about you. NO ONE! Only toxic people do that. Super warm hugs to you, honey! You have found your courage! xoxoxoxox

I found this for you: https://psychcentral.com/search/?q=g...bad+therapists

That link will take you to an entire page of great articles on Psych Central guiding you to see characteristics of a good vs bad therapist.
