I thought this was a very well written and insightful article:

10 Things Mentally Strong People Do During a Pandemic | Psychology Today

Summary:

They limit news and media exposure.
They accept their feelings as normal.
They carefully choose the leaders they follow.
They limit social media and exposure.
They display self- compassion for lack of productivity.
They focus on facts.
They meditate.
They focus on self-care.
They know their personality needs: Introvert vs. extrovert.

Another interesting read I just found:

7 habits of people who keep it together during uncertain times

Maybe we can be inspired by these habits.

Summary:

See things slightly better than they are
Be fine without normal
Switch off your brain
Make the most of every moment
Practice the joys of oversleeping
Answer every phone call from people you respect
Don’t take yourself too seriously

Aren't they all great points?! I thought so!

I found these articles to be most helpful right now. I am in fact limiting my exposure to both social media AND the news. If I am on social media, I am only posting positive or funny things, and I am steering clear of all that is negative -- it really helps!!!!

Yup I am following news if it pertains to my work or my daily existence. I am not checking any kind of political fighting right now.
Thanks for this!

Same -- I can't stomach it, and it just brings down my mood! So I avoid avoid avoid! I watch the news just 2X a day, in the morning and once at night to keep up on Covid 19 happenings and that's it.

Those were all really good points. I will keep them in mind.
I only check the news once every couple days. The world can’t handle such abrupt change so I figure nothing much can change in just a few days.
