My mom is driving me crazy... Ever since Trump won the presidential election in 2016 (and even after he lost in November), she has been a completely neurotic hot mess over the political situation. It's like she just can't cope. I try to be supportive and patient, I let her vent to me, but at this point, even I have lost my patience. We had a rip-roaring fight over text today about the protests in DC and the MAGA supporters storming the Capitol. And the most ridiculous part was that we weren't even on opposing sides. She is just becoming unmanageable when it comes to controlling her emotions over this. Finally, I told her to get a grip. That did not go over well. But I'm sick of this. So is my sister. So is my dad (who has to actually live with her, for which I don't envy him). Even I have my breaking point.

I think a lot of the reason why everyone's at each other's throat, is a perfect storm of forced seclusion and social media being ever-present.

Rjdb-- I am not at anyone's throat. I am trying to convey in this post how difficult it is to talk to my mom. As I said in my post, we are not on opposing sides. She's just Looney.
