I've dealt with far too much in the last several months.

My husband's abuse towards me throughout our marriage followed by him cheating on me, then more abuse from my husband over the last 2 months while he's moving out, a pending and very painful and difficult divorce, five months of unemployment and job searching, then finding out about my ex fiance's death, and now I just found out a friend has terminal cancer and has 18 months to live.

Not to mention it's covid, I am completely alone and I do not deal well with social isolation.

It's FAR too much for anyone to handle. I got completely wasted the other night as a result of all the stress. I feel immense shame because I called a number of people and do not remember what I said.

I cannot cope anymore and am at the end of my rope. The only silver lining is I found a job and start on Monday.

The rest has me completely depleted.

And Valentines Day is coming up... I am SO soured on love. I wish this day did not exist.

You can do it.

Take this weekend to make some changes in preparation for a job. Clean and organize your house. Buy groceries. Line up your clothes. Order a good book to read before bed. Go see your parents. You need to start a new job with clear mind and rested so make other important changes starting today

I am having de ja vu about Valentine’s Day. Last time you worried about being alone on Valentine’s Day you ended up with this jerk. Love has nothing to do with Valentine Day same as marriage has nothing to do with wedding ceremony. It’s superficial. Take Valentine’s Day out of the equation. You have a bigger fish to fry

Get ready for a new life

PS sorry about your friend. Send something to them or their family as a sign of support

Thanks, divine.

I will send a care package to my friend who has cancer.

I am not ready for my job to start, but it will and very soon. At the very least, I will go grocery shopping. I do not need clothes and I have no money for clothing. Ill be working from home. I have a gazillion orientation meetings next week. This will be a massive adjustment.

I just feel like I've gone through hell and it shows. I am weary. I am not ready for work.

So Sorry about your Friends! Sorry that you're feeling so stressed also. i agree with all the advice from the wise and wonderful as usual divine1966. Try to find as many distractions as you can so that you can start your job with a clear mind. Stressful periods can happen but they usually don't last forever so Please try to resist because i am confident that you have the capabilities to get through this. Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @Have Hope, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

I was up at 3 AM due to peri-menopause. I am very emotional due to PMS. I am still not well. I don't know how I am going to survive a new job which starts tomorrow. I feel like I am really falling apart.

Not having a job is scary. So alternative is not working. Not good. So you simply have to get yourself in to this new mode. You can’t fall apart. You have to do well and for that you have to be on your game. You can do it

Thanks for this reminder!

I do need to do well in my new job. And not working is FAR worse. Maybe I will buy a case of those five-hour energy drinks... I need something to keep me going other than coffee.

Today I will try to reset.

I hate energy drinks. Try to go to bed early. Maybe you can take something over the counter like sleep aid to get full 8 hours before first day of work.

It’s been many years since I started a new job but I remember i literally didn’t sleep before first day in anticipation and I was about to fall asleep at work. Not a good start. I was yawning all day lol

Going to bed early makes me wake up even earlier. Energy drinks will help me to survive. I was prescribed a medication by an RN and so far it is not working. I am to speak with my doctor Tue evening about this issue and medication. So hopefully it can be resolved ASAP.

What do you mean? Prescribed by RN? RNs absolutely can’t prescribe meds (they can suggest meds). Nurse Practitioner can prescribe..

I sometimes have to take over the counter meds to get full night of sleep. I am extremely light sleeper like everything wakes me up. Ugh I hear you. Well I was up way too early today for no reason. I wish I could sleep in like other people!

Oops, I meant a nurse practitioner. I have been awake since 3 AM... I am not all there.

I usually am a heavy sleeper, so this is all very new and strange to me. Sometimes I really hate being a woman! I wish I could sleep in like many people are able to.
