I've missed opportunities. But in actuality I've been trying to pursue music since my 20's. I auditioned for a bands, for tv shows, for whatever opportunity came my way.

Once i was selected, but i missed answering the door when Oprah sent the cameras. She called me to say i wasn't selected but i was and was wearing a breast feeding nightgown and didn't answer the door when i saw the cameras. They picked someone else. No one made it big but still it was an opportunity.

I feel like at times maybe I'll get another chance but I'm starting to realize I'm just not that good. I may have felt like i was supposed to be famous but honestly when do you just say enough is enough?

People around me see me as a musician, a struggling songwriter. I have talent but it's moderate. I just feel like it's time to throw in the towel. I missed my ship. I just lost yet another contest.

Oprah called you herself ? An assistant did do it ? Entertainment and music is so hard to break into. Literally good singers are a dime a dozen. The only way to make it is to have a style that a record company is interested in.

I still consider myself a musician, even though I have other career ambitions. Music's really hard to make it big in. And anyway, how happy are the people who make it big in music anyway? Probably not so happy. I don't know. That's just my perspective.

I am an artist. I am not famous. It’s ok. You can still be a musician and not be that famous

They sent cameras and knocked on doors with no warning? Actual Oprah called you? It sounds like a scam to me. Plus you said you weren’t selected so why they send cameras. Sounds like scamming

So Sorry that you feel like you missed an opportunity! However, if it is your passion, i don't see the need to give it up altogether. Even if you don't become famous you can still like playing some music, right? i agree with the other wise and wonderful posters about continuing it if you want and i am also a bit skeptical about that Oprah thing if i have to be Honest. Please do not give up your dreams. Sending many Safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @Aviza, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

People around me say keep pursuing songwriting. I'm taking a break.

Btw it wasn't a scam she announced on her show she did that to get surprise reactions when the cameras showed up.

That’s ridiculous. People might not even be home. Might be gone to see family member for a month. They’d be knocking on doors of an empty house. If people showed up to surprise me, they’d not be able to. I am not home during the day! How silly of them
