Have you noticed this thing. I try to do tasks and stuff during the day then when I let myself relax a tiny bit after having done some, I'll notice 2 hours later that I journalled for 2 hours straight about my "internals". What?? It got so late I almost had to skip my little physical exercise (but I did go and do it). I'd like to be able to not do this emotional or internal processing so much. But sometimes I just can't escape it lol. Feels excessive to me though to lose 2 hours on it randomly. (Not the first time this happened) Is this familiar to anyone?

Never mind. I answered my own question. It's just that the strongest, worst emotions are hard for my brain. Takes time to get to them. Then god, the way it feels when you finally get to them....

Yes that can happen with ptsd. Are you seeing a therapist?

Thanks much for your reply. Interesting you linked it to PTSD immediately. How do you think PTSD affects emotion processing? Do you have more info on this by any chance? I don't have access to trauma therapy right now (thanks lockdown, long story but that's why basically) |
