I attended a seminar today. We had some discussions in breakout rooms and one person is assigned to present the summary. My former professor was there and she chose me. I'm not a public speaker so I was very nervous as I presented to the whole professional organization. I forgot to say some things and I can't help but think that people in our group was disappointed that I was not able to present all our ideas well. I'm still nervous now. The participants probably don't even remember me but I can't shake this feeling. It's probably gonna be like this until the end of the day. I have to distract myself and do something else.

Dear mssweatypalms,

I am so sorry this happened to you. Something similar happened to me before and it was so hard on me. Wish I knew what to say that would help.

Sincerely yours, Yao Wen

Thanks, Yao Wen. I already did some work, exercise, and now watching a movie. Maybe it’ll go away when I sleep later.

So Sorry! Please Do not give up! It seems like you were still able to give the talk based on your post and even though it may not have been perfect i think you tried and i'd say that is what matters. You were catched by surprise i think overall. Hugs. Try not to be hard on yourself. i think trying not to think about it is a good idea partly. Sending many Safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @mssweatypalms, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

Many people aren’t good public speakers, so I think it sounds like you did well. It’s natural to forget to say some things, too. Pretty much everyone does, even in daily conversation when there’s not that much pressure. Focus on what you feel you did well, and what you could do better if there’s a next time.

Thanks, @RoxanneToto. It might also be because I'm very sensitive now. My depression is getting worse and my eyes are all puffy from crying since last night because of two other things that happened recently. I hope my students won't ask why I look like I cried. My general answer is allergies, but it's better if they don't say anything.
