I started seeing this great therapist on November 3rd 2020 last year. I obviously was not paying attention that this County mental health service was only a 1 year 3 month deal. I knew she was not going to be there long and I thought I would have her until December 2022 as I was making a career move.

Nope I was wrong. She informed me yesterday that its coming up on the anniversary and I will be "graduating" and they will give me 3 months after 11/3.

I am now just preparing to take a 3 part test for a city job and I was hoping to continue seeing her for the 2 hours a month while I am hopefully working till 12/22.

She was sounding positive about this and I was not. I dont get to talk with alot of people and I made the mistake of getting comfortable with seeing her.

Yesterday I couldnt eat and was crying about this curveball thrown at me. I just started with this coffee group thats meeting this am so thats a positive.

This is just hurting. I gotten so used to her and now its going away after January. I hope I am working full time so it doesnt hurt anymore

Anyway thanks

I am so sorry that you will be losing a therapist who really helped you. That is heartbreaking. Wish I knew what to say that would help. I hope you get the city job and like it. I worked a city job for many years and really enjoyed it. Change is something that causes me a lot of distress, even when the change is for the better, so my heart goes out to you. Best wishes!
