Posting a link to an interesting article I just read on Highly Sensitive People as they’ve been referred to:

Are you anxious, introverted or just a ‘highly sensitive person’? | Psychology | The Guardian

I particularly liked that this article outlines the benefits/strengths of being an HSP not just the challenges.

Hope others will find it helpful!

I am also an HSP.....apparently we make up only 1/3 of the population (if I remember that statistic correctly.) It is difficult living in a world (as an HSP) when most of the people around you are less sensitive and empathic.

Fascinating article. I am really amazed to know how our system and feelings work in a complex way.

Me too, though I didn't know there was a name for it. I used to get criticized for being "too sensitive", it was seen as a character flaw in me by people for decades. Now I feel vindicated. We FEEL more of everything.

I agree about how the people in the world, in general, lack sensitivity and empathy.

I am an HSP.I think people around me knew it.They actually pushed my buttons intentionally just to have me reacted( over reacted),so that they could say I am weird or abnormal or overreact. Just to prove a point. It was a cruel game for them.
