There are 2 people who are in my life who scare me a little. One of them is a gossip - she is constantly talking about other people's business - being very specific about who she is talking about and the specific issues. The last time I was around her, she made what sounded like a threat to spread gossip about me - the fact that I could become a target is pretty disconcerting.
The other one is just kinda weird and controlling. We invited her to our house recently - and she brought a tray of food, then expressed anger because she didn't think enough people tried the food she brought. She also invited my wife and I to play pickleball - and then was angry because my wife was sick and couldn't make it... I just feel manipulated and threatened when I'm around her. I tend to avoid them - and when I'm around them, I feel pretty stressed. Fortunately, I don't expect to see either of them in the near future - but my wife is friends with both of them, so they could show up anytime. __________________ My business is to teach my aspirations to conform themselves to fact, not to try and make facts harmonise with my aspirations. It helps to remind myself that these people don't really have much power. It's not like either one of them is well-respected or in a position of any real power. I've never heard anyone even mention either of their names except to express dislike.

Over the summer I made a right hand turn in front of someone and they were going a little faster than I realized - so they had to slow down. Then I apparently drove too slowly - and I could see they were getting agitated... he ended up speeding past me, then flipped me the bird. He was driving a beat up Chevy pickup with a rebel flag in the rear window. This happened near my home - for a month or 2 afterward people kept inexplicably slowing down in front of me - one time they even stopped in the middle of the road. I couldn't ever prove it - but from the behavior of some of the drivers - it sure seemed like someone told his buddies to get even with me. That was pretty stressful. I think they eventually gave up - because I haven't had any similar incidents in several months.
