So, mum finally agreed to let me have a cat at the home she said she was worried about the cost to feed the cat but I don't mind the cost if it means I have someone to care of and love. Like it means the world to me to have a cat be able to stay with me hopefully for life.

Remember, too, that it is not just food. There are routine vet bills for vaccination and check-ups. The cat will need to be given worm and flea preventatives regularly. Also, you should have some money set aside for non-routine vet visits in case the cat gets sick or injured. Good luck!

I think the cat comes vaccinated. I'll also get it microchipped and registered under my name.

They need regular vaccines and check ups yearly.

I know I'll make sure to take the cat to the vet. Our Cleo that we had for 8 years she wasn't a neglected cat she always had her check ups and very healthy, so when she ran away we were confused because she didn't seem to have any kind of emotional issues. Just felt kind of weird. I wondered though if me putting her gently on the floor when she came for affection she was very affectionate. I wonder if that's why she ran away or maybe because my mum was always opening the door for her to come in and she didn't feel comfortable

The triple vaccine is always annual. The rabies shot depends on the type used. Some last a year, others can last two or three.

I agree the microchip is an excellent idea. Be sure to keep your contact information up to date. Here we have a national registry of pet microchips and you can update your data online if you move or change your phone number.

You need to think very hard about it. Too many people think that the pets serve the purpose of combating humans loneliness. But then they run into inability to pay for vets or other needs and then animals are neglected.

Are you dependant on your kitty or emotional support?

I like my kitty. I wouldn't say I'm dependent on it for support I mean I'm already dependent on my mother. That's why I see a psychologist
