As some of you know, I love bears

I also like wolves and many other beautiful creatures. Some might find them ''scary'' but I find H.sapiens to be the scariest animal. (no other animals that I'm aware of are ''manipulative'' for example, not in the highly ''evolved'' and cruel way that some humans are. ) (not about anyone on msf....)

I have a somewhat vague memory of a story about how ''many'' of us have two wolves inside us, a wolf of light and a wolf of darkness. Which wolf do you feed? I try to feed the wolf of light. However I feel that completely denying any darker feelings such as anger isn't exactly healthy for a survivor of trauma and abuse in childhood, and is not conducive to growth or to healthy relationships.

Indeed, Pete Walker (and others) talk convincingly about how grieving and angering can help in healing the harm that a traumatising ''family'' of origin does, in CPTSD (complex PTSD)

Love to ALL

White wolf and black wolf

White wolf and black wolf

White wolf and black wolf

(the black wolf can remind us that there can be beauty in the darkness - saving and slightly changing text....)

I always thought the point of the story about the two wolfs is that you must feed and care for both. To starve one would make it uncontrollable and unbalanced. Once they are in balance you can listen for deeper voices and grow spiritually. I think it was a Native American story, can’t remember clearly.

My best friend and I took different paths after high school. He went to college. I joined the Navy. I'm very happy to say he is my best friend to this day.

Through the years I have been able to know and hang with a bunch of his friends from college. All super nice guys but we have very little in common. I'm not exactly sure what sort of impression I left with them at first but my best friend wound up telling me that one of them said I was raised by wolves. I took that as a huge compliment.
