I feel like I’ve lived 37 years with absolutely nothing to show for it. I feel like there are so many things I want to do, can do, and should do in my life, and I don’t know what they are. I’m not feeling suicidal or like harming myself, but it has crossed my mind that if I were to not wake up tomorrow morning, no one would notice. I would not have lived my life to the max, and I hate that feeling. I’ve already come to terms with the fact that I will probably be single with no kids for the rest of my life, and I’m okay with that. But I want to work in Antarctica. I want to see the world. I want to create amazing art. What i don’t want to do is waste away in the Denver suburbs in retail pharmacy. Ugh. I don’t more why I’m feeling this way tonight. But it’s something that is really bothering me, I guess. All I have is my job, my cat, and my Etsy jewelry shop that has barely made any money whatsoever. I need more. I need to do more. I probably sound crazy.

I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling.
Why don’t you pick one or two goals and start working on bite size steps towards them? If you want to work in Antarctica, maybe research companies or places that you could apply to. Next, find out what they want of you. Then start adding to your resume/CV. If you need experience in something, that can be an another goal. Go do something that would help you work there. Bite size steps is the only way that I manage to get things done otherwise I feel overwhelmed and do nothing. I’m like paralysed with this fear. You can do this!!! all the best |

I agree with @Pinny!
Start making art... start working towards your dream of being in Antartica. If you learn that you can't move or work there, then what about planning a vacation or trip to Antarctica? The only way to achieve goals and dreams is to work towards them, and to take action steps. The only way to feel like you're living your life to the fullest is to be proactive about the things you enjoy doing and want to do. So, do it.... don't sit passively back wishing... that will lead to nowhere. Begin by buying art supplies - get excited! This is YOUR life and you can do with it whatever you please. __________________ "Twenty-five years and my life is still trying to get up that great big hill of hope for a destination" ~4 Non Blondes |

Thanks Pinny and Have Hope— appreciate the message. I do make art, but it’s true that i need to figure out how to start selling it. I’ve applied for some art jobs on indeed and such, but I have a sneaking suspicion that having contacts in the art world would seriously help with that. I applied for a position at McMurdo Station in Antarctica. Those jobs are not easy to get, but hopefully I’ll hear something at some point.
