So, I agreed to let one of my closest friends stay with me for about a month— he needs to get on his feet somewhere where he won’t be locked out and have to sleep in his car in negative-degree weather (yes, that actually happened). I had my reservations at first — my home is my sanctuary, and I wasn’t sure I wanted anyone else in there defiling it, for lack of a better word. But the more i think about it, the more I start to wonder if this is what I actually need. Sometimes I get too comfortable in my little hidey-hole and don’t want to engage with anyone and also, last night i didn’t binge at night because he was sleeping on my futon near the kitchen and I didn’t want to wake him. Furthermore, he’s a good friend, my cat loves him, and it wouldn’t kill me to do something charitable for once. I’m kind of a nasty *****, so doing some good for someone else can only be positive. I trust him because I know him— he’s not going to steal from me; besides, anything i consider valuable i have locked up lol. I think this actually might work out.

@indigo1015 what a nice gesture. That is very kind of you.

Maybe you will learn something about how your mind works. I always do when I go out of my comfort zone.
