I've never done anything like this before but I'm trying to strengthen my coping toolkit. I'm struggling to manage my emotions and I find myself having to disassociate just to function, keep the people around me safe and mitigate exposing people to my manic and erratic states. I started self harming again and last night I chose to drink to much and ended roaming my neighborhood nude crying and incoharent. I'm sacred because I'm a single parent, we live in a rural small town therapeutic resources are scarce and I hate when my mental health positions my children to take care of me.

I'm so sorry you're suffering and not getting the metal health care you need and that is required for your kids to feel safe.

Do you have a doctor who can help you?

There are online supports such as
- here
- an online support groups for bipolar and depression DBSA - Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance
- also HeyPeers - Where Peers and Support Groups Connect where you can talk to someone one-on-one, or join in online groups

It's so important that you get help asap.

Oh my. I am not clear what you mean by "I'm sacred because I'm a single parent". Sacred in what way?

You probably need an antipsychotic medication now to bring you down from mania ASAP. Your children depend on you and this situation has to be straightened out. Therapeutic resources and peer support are great, but at this moment you need psychopharmacology. Do you have a psychiatrist (called "pdoc" on these forums)? Or a psychiatric nurse practitioner? How far is the closest big city? When you call yourself manic, is it your self-diagnosis or has someone officially diagnosed you? If the latter, what did that person prescribe?

It is not good, self-harm and self-medication with alcohol. You need help!! I agree with TheGal and am asking you to please cross-post this on the Bipolar forum here. You will get compassion and ideas on where to go from here.

Your town may have a social services department. It might be only one person, and he or she might also be the town clerk or do payroll, but it might be worth it to find out.

@Tart Cherry Jam, perhaps a typo. Maybe she meant scared not sacred.

Hopefully the OP sheds some light
