My friend came down Sunday, and we went grocery shopping, to just get me out and I always forget stuff. We went to the local Target and by the time I got out of there, I was absolutely run dry of energy. We got back to my house and the nurse here on duty, insisted I sit down. She checked my vitals and said she would put the groceries away. I don't even remember my friend leaving as I just crashed out. It is getting harder. I will never give up, but that is frustrating. Defeated by a trip to Target grocery, it is depressing. I am feeling more and more as if this MacBook is my only portal to the sane world.

@16PennyNail:

Do you live in Assisted Living? In a hospice? At first I could not understand the context of your message, but then I read about your being terminally ill in another thread. In regards to that post: I agree with you that all of our experiences, good AND BAD, have jointly made us the person we are now, the person typing this, and I am glad you are content with who that person is and are at peace. The physical health failings and weak vitals are so disheartening, but as a reminder, you are at peace and you are content with the person into whom you have grown over the course of your life. And that is the most important thing.

No, my insurance and I pay for an RN to be at my home 24/7, there are like four of them that work 12 hour shifts. I could have went into a facility, but I like the peace and quiet of home. I have a partner as well who is a psychiatrist, that knows nothing about medicine. Plus if I did a facility I could not take my dogs and Winston Churchill, the cat. He is very inspiring, "We shall fight them on the beaches, we will fight them in the air....etc....etc."

Of course, home is best if it is workable, and you have your furry partners by your side.
