I don't know about you, but to me it's a different kind of trigger

If something happens in your life, it's bad. Really bad.
But then if you see a news report that bring back memories of said events, it's 100 times worse

Or is that just me

How to deal with it...

I am very sorry that both of those things happened to you. Wish I knew what to say to help.

I suppose it really depends on what happened & how traumatic the situation it was.

I personally try to catch the memory thought when it comes into my mind & reframe to to being thankful it isn't happening to me now & thankful that I lived through it to be where I am NOW.

Some things are more difficult to do that with than others though but it is a good place to try & start

@emily1890 I experience the same thing with the news. Certain words and reports trigger me and send me in a spiral of old memories and feelings. I still haven't really found a way to properly deal with it, but sometimes listening to music helps to ground me. I have a sensory tool box, it's got lots of different textures and fidget toys which I find helpful. Do you think something like that would also help you?
