Here warm weather isn't a good thing. We are in a severe drought, and now we have an energy grid strain due to all those fans and a/c's running. Hot weather impacts crops, which affects prices. Yet people act like this is "beautiful" weather. It's not. Not in these conditions. All these wildfires too. Poor air quality from that also.

You're right if one person is helped by this thread, it's done its job. I know I was helped.

Today was a good day. I overcame a lot of things (lack of sleep, fatigue, a sprain or a pinched nerve in my left hand, and some serious loneliness on this beautiful, closer-to-Spring-weather day)...and got some good things done.

basically you post what you are looking for, and someone messages you- like a penpal but on the forum

I mean it's a great idea in theory and would help with feeling less lonely

Been feeling quite lonely lately. The weather has turned hot, so I have to close the nice, big windows in my tiny apartment and turn the a/c and fans on. Of course, the afternoons are long and so bright. The last time we saw "real" rain was in February! Serious drought conditions - which means very serious wildfire likelihood.

I thank the Universe for my cats, I'd lose my mind without them.

My sister and BIL dropped in for a visit a few weeks ago and that was the best day! We had a lovely time talking together, and great hugs.

I got out to get an eye test for glasses. My Mom is paying for them, so that's good because I didn't have the money in any which way. And since I had them do the order with Transitions lenses gray it will take a week to get both pairs of glasses. One pair is a cat eye pink. And the other is an upward slanted smaller sized rectangle amber in color. I am so glad I could get the glasses both with Transitions lenses. These will make selfies with makeup be so much better. And selfies without. Selfies are about my only hobby. But I do like to try gardening and sketching. Also, I enjoy social networking/using my laptop. I do like to use my phone and iPad but for the every day stuff I enjoy my computer. I guess I will have to make it flow better because going every minute like it is an IMPROV move to do anything is making me antsy and feeling like all I ever am is chaotic. I need to put structure to this. And I will!!!

Me too. I'm also in the drought stricken Southwest, it's not even summer and it was HOT last week. I can't afford the a/c and it's really just a ROOM a/c. So the living room could be cool but the bedroom stays hot. Better to just leave it hot and be consistent. Bad air quality from fires and the heat doesn't help.

One of my neighbors is right above the laundry room and she says she gets the heat from the dryers. It just rises up and enters through the cracks in the floorboards. She has direct sun too, and like me just a room a/c in one room only. They probably didn't want to spend the money to put one in the bedroom too. STUPID design. Of course they don't live in the building so why care?

I don't have any cats but I have stuffed (animal) cats and cat "stuff" like sticky notes, towels, mugs, etc.

No one visits me.

I just ended an online friendship. We met in person last year for a group event, and then stayed friends online. But, today was the last straw for me.

I went out to CVS. Bought some makeup. The tinted moisturizer was from Black Radiance and I didn’t realize it was not light enough. I got orange lipstick and light tan lip shade and some mascara that said ‘Angel’ on it. I can make it all work!! I’m pumped about it!!

I have an interview at a convent for a dietary aide. That’s on Friday.

I would do anything just to speak in front of people, but I can’t... It’s a fault of mine.

I had to return eyebrow pencils twice because the first time it didn't have the ability to be sharpened. It was "retractable") Second time it was too light, the shade on the package was much lighter on my skin...third time I got the right shade. Thankfully Rite Aid accepts returns within 30 days on any item, even if it's been opened.

Ugh, that poor lady over the laundry room. Yeah, I have the same situation as you do - window a/c, so the kitchen is cold, the living room is pleasant, but the bedroom and bathroom are so warm and stuffy all summer. Add in drought conditions and dust, and...*sigh*

It's nice that you have the "cat things."
