Well hello everyone ...ok here we go...im 23 years old and im a recovering sddict my best friend is in rehab right now .....for years i had been well wheather you want to call it co dependent or dependent but on my parents in which return i was emotionally abused and shelterwd very sheltered but when i turned 18 and started feeling freedon it passed on to my best friend in the entire world i would do anything for and go anywhere with this girl....well of course we were both users and ended up being codeffendents and went to jail for six months but lol we were togethere the entire time ....recently like two months ago she was violated in her probation for taking a pain killer ....for a migrain(she has a migrain dusorder so its like 20 times worse then a normal oersons migrain) but went to jail for 30 days and noe is in rehab and well we are bith on this journey together .....but i hadnt relized is that with her gone my depency has moved to another person annd its sevear i had a panic attack when i thought he was not going to be home because his car broke down ...my bff called me tonight after getting my letter explaing that i had a serious craving moment...and she was like its disturbing how bad this is and that i need to put boundries up.....i cant boot him out of my lufe ge is helping me pay my fines until i get a job and helping me get out of a horrible homless shelter that we are in and into an appartment and helping me find a job i need help but i dont know what to do .....thats mt story ....if anyone has any advice ill take it..

Hey, so you are wanting to know if the behavior is Dependent Personality Disorder?

I guess you have to decide for yourself if you accept his help and get your act together or keep hanging with bff and wind up in jail again or dead, etc. If you get a job and apartment and things are better when she gets out of jail, then what? She will have no job and will be pulling you away from yours and down you both will go again. What do you want? I would stick with whoever was going to help me get moving in that direction and/or worry about the relationships when I was more stable.

She and i are working on staying sober together and when she comes hone from rehab we will be working on our recovery together ...what im looking for are tools that would help me stay independent...and to work on that so my relationships are healthyer...thank you both for the advice you have given so far. And im looking forward to more to come
