No doctor or therapist has ever said that I have Dependant Personality Disorder, but I KNOW that I do! So because no one has figured it out yet, they therefore are not helping me!
When I think of all of the time and money wasted on these so called professionals it makes quite angry. Livid!

I also manifest the signs and behavior of someone who has avoidant personality disorder---I avoid everything! Because of deep fear and phobias.

it is no small wonder that I feel so frustrated and hopeless.

so why don't you tell them you believe you have the symptoms of these disorders so you can be evaluated for them or at least be treated for the bothersome symptoms? I was misdiagnosed so I brought in the criteria for that diagnosis and explained why I did not meet the criteria for that diagnosis to both my therapist and my new psychiatrist. they both agreed and removed the diagnosis from my chart. perhaps if you brought in the criteria for those diagnosis, which you can find online and explain how you meet it, they will agree as well, take care,

One of the problems about diagnosis is that insurance companies require a common diagnosis, or they give trouble about paying. maybe this doesn't apply to you, so I don't mean to digress. Anyway, I have Avoidant Attachment disorder, but my clinic puts down Bi-Polar so the insurance co won't balk.
The avoidant disorder is to cover the dependency longings that are too scary to admit to the doc, or anyone. It is such a challenge because we have to put on a front of being independent, strong, and cool, while underneath it's just the opposite. It helps me to practice inside my head how I'm going to say something to my T. I have to go over and over it to save face and not appear weak or needy. A real bummer there. But somehow, the therapist and staff need to know what you really feel is your diagnosis. We are so very good at hiding that even a good therapist can be thrown completely off the trail.
