so here's my story,
I've always been very depended on people that are close to me. When I felt lonely or something was wrong I did everything to make them feel bad for me & I asked their advice WAY to often and I am pretty sure I had DPD. Now-a-days I am a lot more independent and I care a lot less, but I still get so scared to disagree with them and to lose them. My question is: How can I know if these fears are normal or if they're exaggerated? |

hi stronggirl
the best way to judge if you have a problem is to see a professional and be evaluated. if you are not ready to take that step you take an honest look at how your symptoms are impacting your life. are they interfering or causing problems with your relationships, job or lifestyle. Are they causing you any kind of distress? Are they keeping you from reaching goals? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then you may want to consider counseling to gain some coping skills to deal with those symptoms. welcome to psych central. you will find we have several forums where you can post about your concerns and receive feedback from other members. you will get a lot of support here. again, welcome ![]() |
