A teacher of mine once wrote that I would be successful, but that it would be my own version of success. I know what she meant at the time, but I was worried that someone else might think I was weird. I'm over that fear now.
I've posted much of my story elsewhere, so I just wanted to say that my version of success right now is moving with hope and joy past a painful marriage into an uncertain future. I'm allowing myself to dream, to plan. I'm being social (for me), and I even care about my clothes and hair (which is a first in my life, really). I finally stopped seeing my therapist. It feels like I've been given a new start. I wouldn't use "happy" to describe me, but I'm doing well. And I like that. There's hope. |

Congratulations, Tumnus! You're in a good place.
I believe determining your own version of success is one of the keys to fulfillment. It is, however, a difficult task when we're constantly bombarded by others noisily hawking or even trying to impose their versions of success. It is even more difficult when we're depressed. Kudos to you, Tumnus, and to all who've found their own path. __________________ My dog mastered the "fetch" command. He would communicate he wanted something, and I would fetch it. |

That's really cool.
