Really I can't say that I have been successful as yet, but it seems I have found another tool to control my depression/anxiety. I've added Mindful meditation to my tool belt, and that seems to work just fine.
It's called Insightful Meditation. It's great. It's a Buddhist technique called Anapanasati or Mindfulness of Breathing. Works for me. If interested you could go to: http://insightmeditationcenter.ning.com/ Once there you could look around and there a link to audiodharma, which will take you to some talks and guided meditation links to stream or download and it's all free. I am starting to do it everyday, and it has brought me some relief. There are people that practice for years, I was doing a different type of meditation, but that involved too many rules and guilt so I barely do that any more, I have enough negative self-talk to last me a lifetime, maybe several. I hope you take part. It costs nothing, and the gain will be great at least while you meditating. It will work into your everyday life. No grand rituals, or pomp and circumstance - just sitting. They even offer meditation specifically to relieve depression and forgiveness of self. We all know how we blame our selves for everything...the forgiveness meditations are good for that. Try it out. Love yourself. It's ok. ![]() |

It's great this is helping you! I do a little meditation every day too and I am familiar with mindfulness. Thanks for sharing this.
