My boyfriend of 4 yrs has recently been diagnosed with depression. I understand this is an illness and I want to supportive in any way I can. But we have gone from completely in love to nothing, virtuyally overnight. Is this all part of it? SHould I just be patient and hope that with treatment, his feeligns will return?

Welcome to PC. I hope that you can find what you are looking for.

Have you discussed this with your boyfriend? Diagnosis can be hard and he may be withdrawing to try and manage, but he also may not notice that he is shutting you out. I would suggest you arrange a time to talk to him. Tell him you know that you don't want to push him but have noticed him becoming distant and want to check he is alright. Reassure him that you want to support him. See what he has to say

You might also want to have a look at our Caregivers forum and Relationships forum as the individuals who frequent there may have more suggestions.
