I'm more depressed today than I usually am. I had to call a friend in California and talk to her about it. It isn't out of my system for the day yet though. I'm going to call a friend in Wisconsin when he gets back from work and talk to him.

I'm also apprehensive about taking Lexapro. This is mainly because of the side effect of insomnia. Accentuated insomnia problems are not what I need when I have to get sleep. That's the only side effect that worries me.

I don't know. I'll figure it out

Hey Ozz. I'm sorry to hear that you're feeling down. Is there anything in particular that has you feeling this way? Is there any way that we can help? I understand fear of meds. I was pretty upset when I found out that I was going to have to take them myself. I guess the thing to keep in mind is that these are possible side effects, not guaranteed. And if the insomnia does happen to set in, maybe there's some kind of sleep aid you'll be able to take to counter this effect. Hope it works out for you.

Ryan and designs are right. Side effects are just what people commonly experience. My husband took Seroquel for bit (a small dose) and it made him incredibley drowsy. It also gave him some kind of cough. Only 1% of people on Seroquel get a cough. His old pdoc had to get out her symptom book and it was the least common symptom. (From what I remember) I've read about people who take 10 times what he took and they don't get drowsy a bit.

My point is, everyone reacts differently to medication. No one medication works the same for everyone. My suggestion is take it when you have time to see if the side effects are harmful to what you want to do. For example, take it when you have spring break or over a long weekend. Don't take it when you have to study for a huge test...etc.

depressed today and keep us posted!

I found some Melatonin at the pharmacy. I'm going to take that instead of the Lexapro and see if I sleep better. I'll take the Lexapro while at home on break in a week.
