Ok I just had my first t session. It was good in alot of ways. But it also has created more questions. Has anyone been told that their depression might have been avoid if there parents raised them different. That is what my t said and I just wondering if any one else has heard of this.

I think that is what T's normally say. Have learned though you will do better if you do not get angry with them. If they are anything like mine, they have tried but did not know what to do.

I haven't heard that from a T, but I've heard it other places, and I believe that if I had learned how to do certain things earlier I would either not be depressed, or not be as depressed as I am now.
Parents teach you how to deal with the world around you. There are skills that if not learned can worsen or even cause depression. I do agree with leacon - depending on the situation the parents may not have even meant to do this ![]()
