.... that my feelings are actually valid?

That it doesn't make me a bad/weak/horrible (insert insult of choice) person to be triggered and sad because close forum friends, on another forum, are close to suicide, and that I feel helpless?

From a life of invalidation....

crunching eggshells underfoot..

Of COURSE your feelings are valid! You are having what my counsellor calls an "emotionally appropriate" reaction to a difficult situation. It hurts, but it's supposed to, and in the long run it's a good sign that you're acknowledging that. Have some hugs to make you feel better.

I think that makes you a NORMAL person. Caring about other and being upset when friends are hurting is a normal healthy part of life. Yes you are VALIDATED!!
