Hello,
This is my first post. My name is Millie. I hope that I am welcome here, and look forward to all of your thoughts on why you think my score is so high, and if I should really be concerned about this. I happened to be looking up the subject of depression and came across this site. Just the fact that I looked up depression is a sign that I must be aware that I need some kind of help.
I took the 'Quiz' on depression, and had a score of 75. Of course, the result was quite a shocker for me.
I know that I have many issues, that might be the reason for such a score. But doen't everyone? Isn't that called life?
Ok, well maybe I have more 'unhappy thoughts than most. Some of the unhappiness brought on by my own mistakes in dealing with people. The most disturbing thing to me is how close famly members can make me feel like a nobody. I am only somebody as long as everything is going their way. I find myself feeling very hurt by things I didn't deserve, and thinking about these things, causes me to become very discouraged. Of course that discouragement has a way of affecting everything in my life.
Well, anyway hello to all. Peace, Millie

Hi Millie,

Your words are so true. That particular family dynamic affects so many of us.

I hope you'll stick around and share your feelings with us.

Cheers, Myzen.

Hi Millie and Welcome!!!

Family......well we all know how they can be. I used to have the same problem. If I didn't do what they wanted then I was out. I don't much worry about it now. Only because I am now an adult with a family of my own. But I truely do understand how frustating and depressed family can make you feel.

As Myzen said, please stick around. This site has alot to offer and so many good people to give advice when needed.

I am not letting family members make me feel like that any longer. They will do it as long as I let them. I am not letting them make me feel guilty or sad. I am a glass artist, and I have been told that artists are all too sensitive. Maybe, there is truth in that.
Thanks for the warm welcome. Peace, Millie

I am 55 years old and have the same thing with my family. This has been a real problem for me, too. I hope that all of us together can help each other. Carol

Hi Carol,
I am sure that the support from others on this site, will be a big help to us. It is great how things can change when we least expect it. I truly belive that there are Angels that have nothing else to do except make sure that we don't get too comfortable and fall asleep and miss our life. Life is so precious, why allow anyone to make us unhappy? Isn't that like being in a 'sleep' state? Peace, Millie

Thanks for the warm welcome. I just love your dog! What kind of dog is on your Avatar? Is it an Irish Wolfhound? I have two dogs, one is a little Boston Terrier name Charlie, and the other one is a Rottweiler named Panzer. The dog in the picture is an English Bulldog, with a pair of 'Doggles' on. Isn't he adorable?
Nice to hear that medication is doing a good job for you.
The war, and having my son in the Army, gets me down. I have been in tears every day following the Terri Schiavo 'Murder.' I just can't believe that something like that could happen in the United States. That husband of hers is just plain 'Evil'
I should get out and exercise more, or get myself to a doctor for some kind of medication. When you take medication, does it make you drowsy? Millie
