I get told to talk about what's bothering me and when I do I get called a drama queen, I can't win.

I give up, I don't want to talk to anyone anymore.

Not talking about anyone at PC okay.

I can relate, Jays. It sounds like you are getting mixed messages. "Talk about what's bothering you, only not really." What's going on with that? What are the person's or people's issues?

I just don't get people, they act all concerned about me and tell me to talk when something is bothering me but when I do talk or try to get them to understand me they say I'm just a drama queen, that I'm just doing it for attention and to grow up.

It really pi$$es me off to no end.

drama queen ; Someone who turns something unimportant into a major deal. Someone who blows things way out of proportion when ever the chance is given.

Jay , I look at this definition and this is NOT you at all .

All of your issues are IMPORTANT and I don't see them as a major deal to us . We are here to help each other . No big deal .
I don't think your posts are blown way out of proportion.
I think you are telling us what is truly on your mind .
So NO ............I don't think you're a drama queen .
Just somebody who really needs help right now .
That's all I see . Take Care

Well said, Wants2Fly. That's my impression, too.

Is JayS a drama queen?” A question like this forces me to shift gears. Within the realm of PC, people are positively invited to lay out their problems, their “drama.” Such a phrase doesn't seem to make any sense here.

To make sure of the yardstick against which I'm to judge your alleged drama queenery, I went to the Urban Dictionary Website and looked up “drama queen.” The site currently offers 18 definitions, some more highly rated than others. Most definitions emphasize frequent, unsolicited airing of minor problems greatly exaggerated to gain the attention and sympathy of a captive audience.

JayS, I only know you through PC, but that's not my impression of you. Your problems are real, your pain is significant. You told your problems to these other people because they asked you to. None of that fits the definitions I saw.

Please don't let the shallow concern of others prevent you from being yourself, from getting the help you need, and from sharing your world with all its pain with us.

Thanks everyone.... but I just realized my question isn't a good one because this is what this site is for, telling our problems.... but in real life it must be true, they say I am so I must be.

What happened is, something was said that hurt me and I went on for two hours trying to explain why it hurt me and asking why it was said.... and by this "Someone who turns something unimportant into a major deal. Someone who blows things way out of proportion when ever the chance is given." I am a drama queen.

Everyone must be right about me.... no good for anything and a pain in the ***.

Just because someone says you are something , it doesn't mean you are . Ever heard of judging . That is judging .
Jay , you are way too hard on yourself . Give yourself credit
sometimes . You helped alot of us here and I'm sure you are
good at alot of things. And your certainly not a pain in the ***.
We could tell you how kind and helpful you were to us a thousand
times over , but if you are not willing to believe that it is true,
it's just making it harder for you . I'm sure everyone here
wants the best for you , don't you want the best for yourself?
Have a good night Jay
And think about what I said .
We care about you

I'm thinking about your signature line quote:
Quote:
"Borderline individuals are the psychological equivalent of third-degree-burn patients. They simply have, so to speak, no emotional skin. Even the slightest touch or movement can create immense suffering." - Marsha Linehan, one of the world's leading experts on BPD.
Admittedly, I'm overly sensitive, but I'm not BPD. I can appreciate your situation to some extent. I suspect the people around you are ... clueless. Would they enter a hospital burn ward and tell a patient, "Ah, quit yer' whinin'! Grow up already!" (If they are, I'd find other friends.) Of course, when they look at you they don't see a burn patient; they can't see beyond what looks "normal" to them.

I join Babysteps and everyone else here in affirming we care for you. I just wish I could recycle your real-life/non-virtual social environment.

I understand you completely. As much as people seem like they want you to communicate, they don't really want to hear anything real.

I hope you feel better soon.
