I have had major depression most of my life. It has been the recent 10 years that I have looked into by way of getting help to see what has been going on all the years! It has been a journey, learning a lot about myself, other problems I need to work on. Depression, and OCD, can be extremely consuming of energy and of self! DRAINING! I have just started back on medications, first with Prozac. I had been off medications for about 20 months; was homeless for awhile, now have my own place. I want to wish great thanks to PsychCentral for being available, Thank you!!!

Depression is so very draining. I too have found it to be a journey, a long difficult journey. Glad you are here at PC to share with.

That's what I like about PC...everyone here comes from different places in life but we all can come together and support each other without judging.

((((((ADHD))))),
Glad you found PC......it is wonderful to know you are not alone & that there are others who are feeling similar to share thoughts with. Somehow, knowing there are others who are struggling with the same issues does help....& sometimes they have a key to helping with something we haven't thought of yet.....that is even more wonderful.

Hope you find PC as valuable as we all have.....it is a wonderful place to call home.

I just get motivated, I'm always stuck in an ongoing rut, drives me crazy!!! Something that should be so simple as to walk out my apartment door and go downstairs and go for a walk or something, IMPOSSIBLE! I have NO life!!! Extremely FRUSTRATING!!!

I feel exactly the same way sweetie. .
Frustrating is not the word at times. It can take over you if you
don't try and fight it. Why don't you try and go for a walk.
I think it would do you good. Just take it slow and if you don't
feel like your ready, then try again tomorrow.
Take care and Good luck

Well said! It should be simple, it should be something one can do without even thinking about it...but there's some sort of grey, iron wall that stops you in your tracks.

ADHD1956, I so wish ... I so wish I could finish my own sentence without bogging down!

Gentle hugs to you, and to all who struggle with the simple things.

Currently I am on 40 mg of Prozac and 600 mg Trileptal. I do now get out a couple days a week, but still a struggle. Hopefully soon the medications will kick in or something. I spend too much time in my apartment and a lot of time in bed...IT'S Insane!!!

Thank you ALL!

I was homelesss byself for a brief period of time so I know what it is like. I wouldn't want that to happen to my worse enemy. I just wanted to say that I am glad things are going better for you. Keep up with the meds. It is important to take your meds even when you start to feel better. I have often went off myeds myself and have ended up in the hospital. Glad things are better
Thanks for this!

I still spend too much time in bed, but I am taking Prozac and Trileptal both in evening. Seems the Prozac is helping a little; I do get out for my appointments, though it is a big struggle. But, over all, small improvements, which is great. I wish everyone the very best!
