This sucks. I just went to the post office and I ran into a friend there. We were talking outside of the post office, other people coming and going, not many but they were there. I had to leave I had to get away. I couldn't even stand there and talk to my friend. What the heck is going on in my mind? What is this crap? I just wanted to get home.

I was in a neurology waiting room about two weeks ago. A few other people were waiting, don't remember how many. Everything was basically OK, but then two more walked in - something snapped inside and I just had to get out. Took refuge in a stairwell.

Anxiety? Agoraphobia? Bad vibes? If you manage to figure this out, please let me know.

Do you have social anxiety? That could be the issues. Or maybe you felt threatened internially and didn't really know it? I would say if you are having a hard time with things right now then that could easily trigger you and you may not know why, at least right now. I would bring it up to your T. Maybe with T you would sort out your feelings and see something. Good luck and take care of yourself.

As far as your friend. Don't feel bad if you do. If you are good friends, I would go and talk to them also. Just let them know how you were feeling and you wasn't sure why. Maybe that friend has some weird vibes from someone around the two of you. I just not sure what to say.

I have social phobia and this happens to me a lot. But I think it happens to everyone sometimes when we're stressed or having a lot going on in our lives... sometimes we just feel very vulnerable, I guess.
Don't worry It sucks, but hopefully it won't happen again.
Take care

Alaskan I don't know what it is either, but it happens to me also. Sometimes I can be out and I'll be fine. Other times if there are too many people, or bad vibes, or .... I don't KNOW what!!??? But I just have to get out of where I'm at. Kind of like a panic attack. I try not to blame myself for it. I try to just accept how I am. I'm always TRYING to get better, but when I can't, well I just can't.

Can't stop you from praying and blessing me,
and if that makes you feel better feel free.
But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me.
And let's all respect each other's feelings.
With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings."

I don't know why it happens and for me it is very unpredictable. One time I can go somewhere and every thing is fine. The next time, even the same place and I can't get out fast enough.

There are some places where I still can not go
Just one of the many things I don't understand about this disease.

Sorry to hear you are plagued with this symptom.

I wish I knew! I get that way in crowds a lot, but sometimes even in safe, familiar environments only a few extra people. Even in high school with my friends, I sometimes got jumpy and just had to go hang out by myself for a while. Now I recognize it as anxiety but I sure as heck don't know why it's intermittant. It doesn't seem to make any sense. Share any answers you may find. It may be helpful to some of the rest of us.
