I had an especially tough weekend. But, I cam through it so I guess that is a good thing.

At any rate I had a quick question. Anyone else out there taht is suffering from depression ever have their mind play tricks on you? I was laying in bed this past weekend and I thought I hear what sounded to be my ex wife saying my name through the open window in my bedroom. I mean it startled me enough to jump out of bed. I quickly ran to the window, looked out, and there was no one there. It was so real sounding, I could of sworn someone was there.

Is this common for someone with depression? Just curious. Taking it one day at a time. (barely)

{{{{{{ltlredvett}}}}}}

I remember having something similar happening to me before. I could feel someone looking at me through the living room window. I could hear their voice too.....it was surreal but there was noone there. This had happened in the depths of my depression a couple years ago....it was my mind playing tricks on me then too. You aren't alone.

I am so glad you are hanging in there and taking it one day at a time...good for you.

When it is bad, I get an out of body experience (or maybe more like being in an adjacent dimension) along with being able to percieve evil auras about some people and places. It can go on for days, weeks, months. It is very disturbing, real, and convincing and I am not so sure it is not real, but perhaps a kind of 6th sense. One think I know for sure is it is a red flag that the worse is yet to come and I need to get back on the meds ASAP.

kvinneakt, weird that you say that this phoenomenon is like a 6th sense, because later that morning my ex placed a call to me. I mean I am the kind of person that is very skeptical about these types of things, but when something like that happens to you it makes you wonder.

Its weird, but I have felt this before too.
I do not know how to explain it but like some of the others have an outerbody experince. I can see myslef, doing things, but I know I am alseep, or sitting there. I can hear voices, and that is when something normally happens. The persons voice I hear calls me, or emails me and ask's if I am ok.
Even if I have never heard the persons voice it feels weird to check my email, and see a letter from him/her in there...

So yes others do have this happen, and it is at my worst times ever..

PM me and I will tell you about my "ghost" eposide

That is SO weird! My grandmother had "experiences" of the devil being close. She never shared the details, but I think I get the same thing. I never talk about it when it happens because it got her locked up and shock treatments.

It is so real when it happens that I feel very much connected to a more real world than the usual one. I think that some of these experiences are what shamans experience in other cultures. They get consulted, not locked up. We're screwed.

Funny... I used to get something like this... maybe premonitions before my anxiety reared it's ugly head, but not since.

Once, when my daughter was a baby, she had a temp that I couldn't keep down. After doing all the right things, I got it down to 101 so I went to bed to try to get some badly needed sleep. Around 5 am, I could have sworn that my dad's voice woke me up saying "Wake up! Your baby needs you!" I went to check her and sure enough, her temp was up at 106!!! We made a bee-line to the hospital. Every time the nurses tried to bring her temp down, she'd start into convulsions. We nearly lost her.

It's never happened since and I haven't had premonitions since I've had anxiety and depression. Sometimes I miss it but most times, I'm glad it's gone.

deperssion plays enough tricks on our minds, so I think the permentions go away, till we need them again. We are most intune with family and childern when we hvae them..
So maybe you just do not need them right now...
