Buzzing off to a nearby city for a couple of days with a friend- should be fun. Got my bag packed, plans made, room cleaned.
Why do I feel all anxious and upset then? I'm supposed to be having some fun but I feel that sense of impending doom. Just feeling messed up and I shouldn't. I'm going with a friend but I feel really alone right now, liked I messed up big time, but I don't know what on earth I messed up. I like traveling, even if it's certainly not far, and we should have a good time. I don't get it. I try to give myself a break and now I'm mentally pacing back and forth. I'm such an idiot sometimes. ![]() |

It will be interesting to compare your pre-vacation feelings/moods with those you experience hour-by-hour during the vacation. I really hope you can have enjoyable, fun times, even if those times are like islands surrounded by less-than-fun moods. Actually, I really, really hope it's ALL fun! ![]()

Not an idiot
![]() I know how you feel... I feel the same way just before doing anything with my friends. before I spent the night at my bf house a few days ago I had half a mind to tell her not to come pick me up the closer and closer it approached to the time she actually got me. I was still feeling like I had to walk of eggshells as I always do when I'm a guest but over all I had a really good time. For me personally it was based off of my fear that I'm going to make people mad at me, even if I don't necessarily do anything wrong. |

Fenrir,
I do that too. Get all wired about something and then doom and gloom crashes my party. (so to speak) On good days, I brace myself, use rational thinking and keep putting one foot in front of the other. On not so good days, I'm irrational and hit and miss with the could-a, would-a, should-ah's. Once you give yourself permission you will have a good time...you deserve it! ![]()

((((fenir)))) If you're anything like me, the so called positive stress of traveling can effect me so much that I start re-interpreting my body's reactions as anxiety. Could this be what's happening to you? It can be hard to sort out the two sometimes, since I don't think the physicla systems are so unconnected... Good advice with the breathing. Take it easy. If it goes kind of blääääää then chalk it up to the brakes. Not the end of the world. Don't load too many expectations onto the trip; you might not even realize tht you are. That said, I hope you have a really, nice time Fenir. Come home safe!
