well today i was looking in our medicine cabinet for stuff that would SU. so i found two bottles that were more than 2 years old. i looked up the two names of the drugs. One was a muscle relaxant and the other was an anti depressant, these were both in my mom's name. So i heard depression can run in families, or bipolar. I have never been diagnosed because i have never told anyone what i think i have so now I'm sure of it. Oh, and the dosage was 10mg, one pill every day in the evening.

Hello, Jon. How are you doing? I ask because I expect you are here because of the way you feel. If you are going to talk to your Mom, my suggestion is to tell her you are having a difficult time. If you have questions about whether you need to talk to a therapist or take an anti-depressant, talking to your Mom may be the place to start. Perhaps she will bring up her own experience with depression.
Good luck! |

hi Jon, welcome to PC
![]() If you're feeling depressed, the best thing to do is get some help. Depression is very treatable, and the earlier you start treatment, the better. Plus, you may want to get checked out by a doctor to rule out other causes for the way you're feeling, like thyroid problems. If you're comfortable talking to your mom, then I think you should tell her how you've been feeling. If she has been on antidepressants, she will probably have a good idea of what you're going through. I was so nervous when I told my mom I thought I was depressed, but she told me she'd been on anti-depressants for a while in the past, which I didn't know until I brought up my own depression. Just make sure that when you do talk to her, you are gentle about having found her medication -- she may be sensitive about having needed antidepressants, and it may not be something she's shared with many people (in my mom's case, she didn't even tell my dad). Good luck, and keep us posted on how you're doing. ![]()

Hi jon. You posted here before, right? Welcome back! I think that at some point you two are going to have to talk about both of your problems, but be prepared tht your mom may not warm to it at once. If she hasn't talked about it before, she might not feel comfortable about talking about it all at once.

Hi John,
I encourage you to speak with your mom. You could tell her you have been feeling down and would like some help and wonder if she can help out. Please speak up when you are feeling this way. I care about you and how you are feeling! Sending good thoughts your way. ![]() ![]() ![]()
