SOMETHING HAPPENED WITH ME TODAY....

today when i went to my psychiatrist who charges Rs 400 (merely 8 dollars from american perspective but high enough from Indian perspective) per visit, he prescribed me certain medications. He has been treating me from last 6 months and is the best in Kolkata, India as per broad consensus (and i must accept his professionla knowledge is really great). So his charges (as per Indian standards) are obviously high. I have had numerous visist weekly biweekly monthly and on every visit i paid him.

Today unfortunately after paying him i was left with rs 200 (4 dollars) and the medicines costed rs 210 ( 4 dollars 20 cents). His clinic is at far away from my home (one hour minimum by cab) and i had a consultation with him today at 9 pm. The particular medicines he prescribed was only available in the shop adjacent to that clinic and not in my area
(which is minimum i hour away from his clinic).

He had instructed me to always never miss a single dose. I requested the shopkepper that from last six months i have been purchasing the medicines from him and if he could just do a favour by selling me not in straps of 10 each tablets of two types (veniz and mirtaz) but a bit less as i did not have 210 rs but only rs 200. He refused. He said i can then only have either mirtaz or veniz with 10 tablets.

I called my doctor on his mobile who was sitting up in ist floor is his chamber and seeing patients that i am really short of rs 20 so can he help me. I pleaded and said him that medicines are not availble in my area and its late enough in night that i cannot go and come back as by then shop will be closed.

The psychiatrist said me that the medicines are very commonly available and inspite of my repeated requests that they are not availble in my area, he kept on saying me that they r commonly available.

He knew very well that they are not available in my area and he being the psychiatrist himself knew the importance of every dose for me and also knew that i have always paid in advance his fees and all bills...

I guess he was least interested in wasting his two minutes or may be risking rs 20 on me.

I wonder where is humanity left on this earth....

I know may be i am wrong in my expectations...

but then i wonder every second and wish i would not have been born in this selfish self centered world.

I know many of u will now say that not everyone is like that and that the psychiatrist misinterpreted and the like...but trust me i can guarantee otherwise....

As I had a bit of trouble understanding your language/transcription....it sounds as if you are in a very hard place economically...I am also. There really IS "humanity" out there Some times sadly,people will feel that the power of money is much more better draw to them. They look at their people as dollar signs instead of compassion....for that, I am very sorry to hear.*hug?*

Trust in your Higher Power, Mohit.....it will show you where your destination is planned & have faith in humanity. Without it where would we be? (dust in the winds of greed)

hmmm can you ask your doctor to be specific and give you the NAMES of the SHOPS where you can readily find your medicines? Maybe he is assuming there are places and he's wrong, and certainly he is assuming you know where to look.
