I'm glad you have a kitty cat. I bet you have some acquaintances. How about reaching out and trying some volunteer activity so you can increase your circle of friends?

I know the future is a foreboding, daunting prospect for any of us to look at, but don't count yourself out yet. I briefly read your profile, 4th year psychology student? Very impressive. Sounds to me like your future has a lot of promise to it.
One of my favorite quotes is from Abraham Lincoln, in which he says "The best part about the future is it only comes one day at a time". Those few words have helped me calm some of my own concerns about the future, hope they help you the same. |

(((jacq10))) to answer your question: absolutely. Your future is waiting for you and I can bet it will be better than you think. And in the meantime, a cat can be a friend too. From my experience, sometimes animals can understand things better than humans.
Phoenix has some very good ideas about how to meet people, think about it. I did some volunteer work when I was in uni and I met a lot of nice ppl there. I had absolutely no friends in university but a lot of good acquaintances and some friends at the place I worked. __________________ I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead I lift my lids and all is born again I think I made you up inside my head |

Don't look into depression's crystal ball, all you'll ever see in there are lies. In avoiding some homework, I looked up a handful of wise words on the future I thought you could pondering. Maybe they'll make you feel a bit better. The future is called "perhaps," which is the only possible thing to call the future. And the only important thing is not to allow that to scare you. ~Tennessee Williams You can never plan the future by the past. ~Edmund Burke I know not what the future holds, but I know who holds the future. ~Author Unknown The course of life is unpredictable... no one can write his autobiography in advance. ~Abraham Joshua Heschel Chin up! Don't let the depression tell you what you have to look forward to -- telling you lies like that is its way of ensuring that it maintains its hold over you. __________________ Rebecca "If you're going through hell -- keep going." - Winston Churchill It's better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else's life with perfection. - Elizabeth Gilbert Bring on the wonder, we got it all wrong, we pushed you down deep in our souls, so hang on. Bring on the wonder, bring on the song, I pushed you down deep in my soul for too long. - Susan Enan http://igetupagain.wordpress.com/ |
