Personal Opinion (possibly flawed): Yes, nice people do exist in the world; finding and engaging them, however, can be difficult.

I don't blame you at all for losing the will to try with people. Having reached the limits of your energies, perhaps it's time for a rest. Anyway, it is my experience (here's where I might sound like a broken record - I guess that phrase dates me) many of the best things in life, companionship among them, come to us when we're not looking for them.

Big Hug in the darkness.Im sorry things are so tough! There are good and nice people in the world. Like Rohag said they come when not looking. I know the battle is tough though. Hang in there. Someone good will come along!!! Big hug to you.

(((((((((((in the darkness)))))))))))

I have had trouble with meeting good people. But I found a support group where everyone is nice and are good supportive people. It is a national organization. It is called Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance. And it's ok if you have other diagnoses besides a mood disorder, they are supportive of that too.

You can Google it with your city and see if there is one in your area.

I think that there are a ton of "nice" people in the real world, but it's just a superficial niceness. Don't expect them to care about you and your problems, because they won't.

Sorry, but I'm just about as gloomy as you are.

Nice people are few and far between. I'm trying hard to be one... Don't give up on the human race just yet.

I think this: if only one person out of 1000 was worth your friendship, it would mean a nice bunch of in your town! It would be good to refine your skill in evaluating people.

Don't give up, we can't be alone!

In the darkness,

I can relate to your point, I've had friendships that I truly valued and thought were good people that would do anything for me and they dropped me as a friend because of what I'm going through. I hope someone comes along that can change your mindframe. I noticed you are in Britain. I grew up there. Nottinghamshire.
