I just found out this morning my father's blood test is showing a marked increase in the cancer marker, and my mother is looking into hospice care. I am not surprised because my father seemed to be getting weaker and weaker. What is frustrating for me is that I have been kept from seeing him because of the snow and most recently the bronchitis I have been trying to kick. My mother is realizing the end is near now and is very upset. I am trying to keep myself from breaking down. I still can not go out there because the illness is still not quite finished yet. Hopefully, I can get there this Friday.

My thoughts are with you, it is so hard having a loved one with a terminal illness. __________________ Pegasus Got a quick question related to mental health or a treatment? So sorry to hear your father is getting worse ((Leacon)). Are you under a doctors care for the bronchitis - I've had this several times. Usually I have to take antibiotics and use inhalers. Hospice is a wonderful caring program. This must be such a difficult time for your family. I know it's very hard, but try to spend as much time with your father as possible - it will be healthier for you to be around him, even though it's hard. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

It does seem that you have some time still to be with your dad since hospice care can last for at least a while. My mom was in hospice care at my sister's house for about a month...in which time I had time to see her and reconcile our relationship before she passed. This weather has been terrible, but spring is almost here, and the change to a warmer new deal of spring may help both you and your dad to feel better..... Y
