I am so tired all the night, but I can't sleep at night. I feel as if I am free falling and about to hit the ground. I was diagnosed with panic disorder in 2006 and depression in 2008. I am currently a college student, but I can barely concentrate. I just want my life back, without panic attacks or this sadness.

Hello & Welcome, SadAngel21!

Are you in some sort of treatment for your illnesses? Meds? Therapy? Have your caretakers gone beyond your diagnoses to give you a full medical work-up in case something else lies behind the panic and depression?

I'm sorry that you're going through this. I know it can be hard especially when you're in college and trying to study. Have you talked to someone about this? Tried any meds?

I went through something similar during college...I was very depressed and didn't tell anyone about it. It got so bad that I stopped going to my classes and I dropped out. That was two years ago and I just started getting the help I need. I regret that dropped out because I stopped going to my classes and failed them. I wouldn't want that to happen to anyone else.

Don't give up with school and keep posting...I hope you can get the help you need.

Okay, you should know this was coming...

1. Do you have a doctor? 2. Are you on meds? 3. This CAN be treated with meds and therapy! You really should start with your student advocacy office and see if you have a free therapist on campus.

Wishing you the best!

Sananger21,

Your symptoms are classic Major Depression and Anxiety Disorder! That's the bad new. The good news is that these symptoms can be virtually eliminated with medication! Please seek help outside of PC.

Keep posting so we know you are okay...

Hello, SadAngel21. Does your college offer health services; perhaps, counseling?
