I have noticed here in the last week that I am deeply depressed all day but after the sun sets, my mood starts to lift. The later it is, the happier I feel. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Please keep in mind that having a very active 2 year old would not allow me to convert to a Vampiric sleeping schedule.

I actually have the reverse problem, I get more depressed the later it gets in the day, I have yet to figure out why, and keep forgetting to ask my T for her take on it.

I hope you find the answers you seek

Best Wishes

I have the same issue of feeling much better when the sun sets.

It is some biological thing.

Yup - i'm in the same boat. Maybe your mind slows down with the anticipation of going to sleep?

I feel better because I know I get to go to sleep soon and fade into hours of nothing.

Thanks everyone for your insight!

I keep forgetting to mention it to my therapist, so I will have to make sure I write myself a note this time!

I should have specified that my depression lessons at night AND I have accompanying insomnia. I've always been happier at night for some reason. Makes it tricky having to survive the days.

I can relate--yes, i feel much better at night, and on cloudy days (few and far between out here-no real rain either), I am also an insomniac...

recently found that OTC Benadryl helps me-go figure?!!-so when i feel like a kid who needs to sleep-and the whole world is closing in on me (this takes about 5 days of not having any decent sleep)--I take a Benadryl- it helps--ya gotta be careful though--easy to build up a tolerance--(((Queen of Disorder)))
