I'm so overwhelmed right now. Trying to break things into little chunks but just failing. I wanted to have stuff done by now but I've barely gotten started. Three major assignments are due on Monday.

I'm depressed, sleeping more than I should and to make things worse my room-mate walked out with my keys this morning while I was in bed.

He left them in the dormatories, somewhere I CAN'T go emotionally right now due to past events, and that ontop of everything else has just sent me over the edge and into tears for a short time.

I'm hiding in my room, not going out only barely got dressed.

combination of depression + anxiety + apathetic = not good

SOS?

"Overwhelmed." The depressed can appreciate "overwhelmed."

OK, I typed the above sentence and then spent about 10-15 minutes thinking of how to advise you. I even drafted a few ideas. Then, I looked at my ideas and asked, "How many of these ideas depend on you not being depressed, anxious, and apathetic in order to realize?" My ideas didn't really pass my test.

Turquoisesea, here's hoping you'll find composure, calm, and focus in ways compatible with your own long-term happiness

Sorry you're feeling so low. I wish I had some advice. I know how you feel, though. Sending hugs!

Do what you can, that's all you can do. Can you ask for a deadline extension? I so wish I had taken advantage of that priveledge when I was in uni. I didn't really you could get extensions 'merely' for being depressed.

I hope tomorrow feels better x

I'm so sorry things are so bad right now. I wish I had some advice, I really do. I'm struggling with the same thing right now. I guess the only thing I can really suggest is to keep trying. 5mins is better than nothing, right? And definitely talk to your tutors about getting an extension.

Take care,

*Willow*

I'm so sorry that you're not feeling well right now. Do you have a therapist or counselor that you could call or e-mail to get some advice? In the meantime, take things 1 at a time. Just pick one of your projects and work on that 1 thing - and don't worry about the others. Also, I know its hard, but if you could take a short walk and get some fresh air it might help to clear your head a bit.

Please take care of yourself. We're thinking of you and wishing you the best.

Thank you so much everyone.

Rohag, your response actually made me smile Oddly made me feel better.
Many hugs back to you Rebecca!

Lisa Michelle and Willow, I'll definitely keep trying to work. I think I'm going to the coffee shop in the morning and getting SOMETHING done.
Slowinme - I have a therapy appointment tomorrow (thank goodness). If I can, I'm going to bring a mini list of things I need/want to talk about (hope I have enough energy for that at least)

Thanks everyone for your support

oh dear... yet again... why why why... 10 hours and 45 minutes of sleep last night. Only wanted 8, couldn't wake up for almost 4 hours. Was going to go have some nice coffee and work through stuff.

Appointment with T is at a different time than I thought and I might not be able to get there in time.

Still don't have my keys.

Take everything one breath at a time, if you have to. You'll get there.

Positive update:

Got to T. Got my keys back without trouble. Had a good rehearsal for my lesson on Tuesday.

Still nothing on the other assignments, but these are good steps

T is saying I need to be nicer to self, that lots may be physical and that I NEED all the sleep I'm getting, going to Doctor on Wednesday to rule this out. She says I need to concentrate on being the person I want to be, not do all the assignments I need to do.

turquoisesea,

I'm so glad that things went well today. You deserve nice things to happen for you.

I'm glad your T suggested that there might be a medical reason for your problems. I was thinking about that today and realized it might be your thyroid or something like that. I'm glad you're having it checked out. Please take care of yourself. Sending warm thoughts and hugs (if permitted). Good luck with everything this weekend.

I'm so sorry that things have been rough for you. It sounds as though you have not been able to recover fully yet from this episode. Most universities are done for the summer (or will be done soon). Will the lessening of your stress and anxiety with school being done help you to feel better? Did they find any physical cause for some of your symptoms?

Thinking about you and sending positive thoughts for continued recovery.

Thanks =)

And as for an update - my last final was this morning, I think I did very well both in the final and the course.

I have a lesson tomorrow, which I'm not prepared for this week but I worked on what I'm bringing tomorrow for weeks before, so I'm hoping that will shine through the dust of inactivity from this week.

After that, I'm done and have a break for the summer =)
I'm hoping to get some things in order during the break
