Hello, Miss Laura! Yes, I remember your disappointment over that last meeting -- I would have been exceptionally disappointed as well.

Do you know why you've been referred back to this psychiatrist? Is there anyone you can ask why and what this new meeting is about? You could say that the last meeting with this fellow only lasted ten minutes and, knowing your time with him is limited, you want to prepare in advance to make the best use of that time.

Your anxiety is perfectly understandable. I would hope your caretakers recognize you deserve to be informed of what they're doing.

I have been referred back as I am going through a hard time mainly cause I SI not long ago.

I don't know if it's because I saw him the last time. He did say he would make himself avaliable if I need to see him again. So I guess that's why!

My friend who went with me 1st time... says I need to tell him EVERYTHING. But what if I can't????? How long do you get??????????? I know its defo NOT 10 mins

I am scared in case I have to go back off work again. I really CAN NOT take more time off. I have a new position and if I go off etc I will lose that as they trust me eventually

Feel frustrated at myself for doing this......... I am an idiot

You are not an idiot.

I would write a letter of what you want to say to him and read it at your next appt. I have done that in the past and I find it helps. Do whatever you need to do to be heard. If you don't say anything, he will never know.

Hey guys,

What if he thinks I am fine again..... I am worried I don't tell him everything. As I have a tendancy to get so anxious I wont say it all.

Will he listen to me if I produce a letter? Or what about writing down pointers and taking it from there?

what i've always found is that taking someone helps. do you have cpn you could take? or like the others say, write it down.

i usually get 15 minutes for a med review and 40 minutes for an assessment / diagnostic session

I am taking my friend with me... she will sit in the waiting room until I have fiinished. The last time I took my friend and she too sat outside. Its a tiny room only 1 seat

I dont have a cpn, guess I will need to write it all down.

Ok so 40 mins thats enough time to have a chat right?

40 mins should be long enough for you to get out what you need to for that time. You won't be able to go through your whole background, but it is a good idea to make sure that you know ahead of time what to say and don't let him derail you!!!
Good luck dear and set him straight!

I would make a list of the top 5 things I need to tell the psych and discuss each for a minute or two :-)
