I'm so depressed. I just want a way out. My meds have been decreased, increased, completely changed, etc....and I am not getting better. I've struggled through life for 40 years, and I just don't want to do it anymore.
I haven't left my house in 6 days.

I'm sorry these days haven't been going well for you. I can't offer any advice, since when I'm low there is nothing in this world I can do to make myself better. Just try to stay strong until a bit more light shines in. The most important thing is to not lose hope. But we're here to provide the support we can.

Along the paths you walk
Thanks for this!

Palmdalegirl, have you experienced depressive lows like this one in the past? How long do they usually last?

With concern...

Thanks for the reply Rohag. I am just not getting around to going back on the computer. Yes, I have experienced these before and they last about 1 week. It's just horrible. Well, have a nice day.

Hi palmdalegirl,

I am sorry you are feeling miserable! It is frustrating to have your meds decreased, increased, and completely changed without feeling any better.

My psychiatrist guessed which drugs would be best for about a year and a half. I was on 15 drug combinations during this time with lame results. This is when I decided to go to the Amen Clinic in Newport Beach, California. The Amen Clinic used SPECT brain scans to give my psychiatrist at the clinic more information in diagnosing and treating me.

The Amen Clinics have been using SPECT brain scans for about ten years. They have research on what the scans show and which medication are most likely to be effective. I don't know if this would be an option for you.
