Good news!!! I do have MDD just with Psycotic features but most of the time I think this forum can help. I hope.

Right now I have only a little bit of will to go out and look for a job, It's hard right now to get out of bed in the morning. Any suggestions to help with that?? I tried setting an alarm, but that just doesn't seem to work. so I'm looking for ideas.

Hi, Puzzclar! Congratulations on getting a diagnosis! (Sorry if I'm misreading your post.)

Without reference to a job or an alarm, what does your whole sleep/wake picture look like?
  • When do you usually go to bed?
  • How long does it take you to fall asleep?
  • Do you awake and/or get out of bed during the night?
  • When do you usually wake up in the morning (without reference to getting out of bed)?
  • When do you actually get out of bed?
  • How long does it take you to really "wake up?"
  • Do you have a "morning ritual" you normally follow that accompanies your waking up?
  • When do you feel ready to take on tasks?
No, you don't have to answer these questions - they're just meant to stimulate thought. Judging from my own experience, managing the morning begins the night before.

I wish you the best!
