I can barely concentrate, Ive been sleeping poorly the last 3 or so days. at times i have trouble getting to sleep, staying to sleep and waking up early and not being able to fall asleep again. its been a major killer for me lately. ive been trying to get back to sleep since early this morning. no doing.

i am so frustrated that i poured myself some liquor. its strong but all i have on hand. i know i shouldn't, but i feel jittery and exhausted. i feel like im losing it. lack of sleep does this to me. the doc gave me a new rx to use as needed for sleep but i forgot to get it filled, ill have it tonight though. im having anxious nerves run through my body. i hate this and don't know what to do. just thought id rant.

sleep is a vital part of good health. i suggest you try to find a way to learn good sleep skills, and use the meds as little as possible. at the very least, let your body lay there like it was sleeping, and focus your mind on some favorite imagining, or on soothing music, without words, or even on some "white noise" like the ocean waves... most of all, refuse to worry over not sleeping, and take naps when ever you can,,, sure hope you find your way thru this,, best wishes,, Gus

I agree with Gus1234U, sleep is very important so it is no wonder why you are so jittery and exhausted. If you can get a calender that will remind you when to take your meds for a refill so you don't have this problem next time. Best of luck

Thanks.

I try not to rely on the meds, i dont need them all the time for sleep, i just have blocks of bad episodes. i took the new med last nite to help me sleep but it didnt help. hoping i can get a nap in today. trying to relax but just irritated by the whole thing. i left a mess. for my doc to see if i should up the med or if i need something diff. havent heard back yet. im feeling SOO frazzled. this sleep thing is such a killer.

thanks kikki, those are all good suggestions. sometimes i do drink decaff tea. something warm in the stomach helps. but my tv is downstairs and id hate to fall asleep on the couch! but it helps take your mind off of things.

im not sure if it's my hormones or possible bipolar thats causing these sleep problems. ive just started to sleep a bit better, but i still feel almost ill. my body is trying to catch up.

I am on Trazadone for sleep. I get up if i cant sleep, and go to another room, where I will read an unstimulating book. Then when I start to feel sleepy, I go back to my room. If I cant fall asleep, i will go back and read again

Yes, I've heard about that. They say if you can't sleep within 30 minutes of trying to get up and out of bed. I don't remember where I heard that. Does the trazadone help for you dawnhopeful? I've been on it before but its been awhile.

Hello Cherry,
Yes it has helped me. I take my tabs about 20 mins - 30 mins before falling asleep. I take 1 and a half tabs. at bedtime. Each tablet is 50 mg. Sometimes, I will take 2 to put me to sleep. I agree, you cant function without adequate sleep
